Simon Wald-Lasowski makes colorful, fun, twisted work by use of bricolage, word play and ‘cliché bending’. Lighthearted at first sight, his images often reveal a certain depth on second inspection. His approach is always very personal, which blur the boundaries between autonomous and commissioned work.

The Truth About Chameleons:
It is commonly thought that Chameleons are masters of disguise and camouflage. That is unfortunately a widespread myth!
Yes, these creatures do possess fascinating color shifting capabilities, but, as is shown in these images of Panther Chameleons (which have not been digitally manipulated) the environment has very little influence on these colours.

We do not have to conform, blend in, adapt to new surroundings. It is natural to feel out of place, uncomfortable or alienated in certain situations. Chameleons do too!
